Baby Watch 2009
A few weeks ago the midwives that I see at my clinic took my chart to one of their supervising physicians because one of them was concerned about the due date having been moved up. He does not know me or my history, but he told them that they would have to move my due date back to the original date of February 6th. After a little bit of discussion about the size of my previous two babies he agreed that we could go ahead and induce at 39 weeks. I felt better about this than waiting until February to deliver. I figured that things were settled at this point, but then I had my 36 week appointment a few days ago and that all changed! Turns out that I'm measuring 41 weeks. All were surprised by this measurement, including me. So they immediately ordered an ultrasound. Granted, ultrasounds at this late date can be as much as a pound off either way, but they felt like they needed to get at least some idea of how big this kiddo actually is. Well, I'm measuring big because he's big (I've been trying to tell them this all along)! He came in at 9 lbs. 4 oz. Size-wise that puts him at about 40 weeks and 4 days and in the 99th percentile. Yet according to my original due date, which is admitedly the most correct, I'm only 36 1/2 weeks. He's breech as well, so they've decided to change their minds again about when I should deliver this little guy. They want me to wait one more week before we decide anything for certain, but after my appointment next Tuesday, we should have an earlier induction date. We are hoping and praying that he turns himself around. The doctor wants to do an a "version" (a procedure in which the physician manually turns the baby from the outside) if he hasn't turned by next Tuesday, and I would rather not have to have that done. So we could see this little man sooner than we thought. Let's just hope that I don't have to deliver an 11-pounder!

h I love seeing the updated posts. I hope everything goes well with your baby. My sister is right in the middle of the same problem. I can't believe how big your kids are looking. Hailee loves it when she gets to see what you guys are up to. We miss you.
Oh my, you poor thing! Kaymi was like 10 pounds wasn't she? How big was Stephen? Wow, I'll be praying for you. I would rather not like to have a procedure like that done either...:S!! I keep thinking about the surgery they want to do with me...and I keep thinking in the back of my mind...UGH!!! NO WAY!!! But, it's probably not going to be avoided. :( Anyway, I hope things are going well...considering. I loved all of the updates!!! I am glad your Christmas was wonderful! :)Love you!
oh michelle!! That is SO CRAZY. I hope everything goes ok. Maggie was breech too....but I didn't have the option of turning her because I was in Labor when we found out. Good luck! Are they going to have to do a c-section if that doesn't work or do they think you can deliver?? I had a c-section with Maggie and it really wasn't that bad, so don't be too scared of that. I did heal a lot faster after Lincoln's natural birth though. Wow....what an exciting time for you guys. New babies are so fun. Hang in there and I will pray your baby doesn't get to 11 pounds!!
Whoa, big boy. Is he gonna have a big name to go with his size? I hope everything goes well. I'll be checking back for updates. Loved the Christmas and dance pics. That Kaymi is adorable. Give her a big hug from me!
Good luck Michelle! I hope the baby turns on his own. I hope all goes well with the turning and the birth!!!
Lots of cute picts! Hope everything goes well with your dr. appointment -- it's time to have a baby!
Good Luck with this Michelle! I hope he does turn around. My doctor didn't even give me an option to have Alexa turned when she was breeched. He just went straight to doing a c-section. I'm not sure how I would have handled it though if he would have given me the option. It sounds quite painful, and a tad bit scary. I hope you will be able to have him soon and that it will all work out how you want it to!!
Michelle your are amazing!!! All that you have been through the last few weeks and you stay SO postitve! We love you SO much and are here for you! We can't wait to see that baby boy either. Our prayers as always are with you!!!
i have been wondering and wondering about you! i hope all is well. i'd love to stop by when things calm down...
