So the camera that we decided to purchase is the Panasonic TZ5. Thanks to all who offered their advice/opinion in our camera search. We were leaning toward a Canon, but when we tried the different models in the store, the Panasonic came out on top for the price we were willing to pay. (If you're looking to pay a little more, we really liked the Canon G9-- We just weren't willing to pay the price for it.) They're relatively new to the digital camera scene, so hopefully this will be a great camera for us. I hope that the picture quality will improve once I figure out all of the settings on this thing. In the above photo of Stephen it was getting pretty dark, so it really gave the flash a chance to do its job. Here are a few more samples of my first attempts at photography with this little machine:
It took me forever to get Kaymi to hold still long enough to take this one. She's a little bit out of focus. I might have been too close to her because the camera seemed to want to focus on the leaves in the background. OR it could be that she is so high energy that she hardly ever stops moving. I did take some pictures of the kids swinging that weren't blurry, however, so I don't think that movement was the problem with this one.
This is Kaymi and Andy's sister, Lindsay. I LOVE how this one turned out. They both look beautiful, and I love how their hair falls against the grass with the faces really being the focus.

These are sooo cute!! Kaymi looks almost identical to you. Granted, I don't know what you looked like when you were 4, but she looks like you now...just my opinion. I know a lot of people have said she looks like Andy, but I think she looks like you. Beautiful!! Stephen is a little handsome guy! Good choice on the camera!! Hope it works out great for you!
Very cute pictures! I love Kaymi's hair - she's beautiful. That Stephen is looking older and more like Andy to me! Crazy how they grow so fast!
Hope you like your new camera! The pictures of the kids turned out VERY cute -- they both look so grown up! How would it be to have kids that would actually "pose" for a picture? Enjoy it while it lasts!
